At DBRS we think the choices are not much of a choice at all. We install, almost exclusively, standing seam hidden fastener roofs, with decorative roof or wall coverings being the main exception to that rule. With the comparison to exposed fastener roofs being so strongly in favor of hidden fasteners when it comes to warranty, it’s not often we have a customer we can’t bring over to this way of thinking.
While some of differences in our metal roofs are based in what we do differently on the roof versus our competitors. These are some of the specifics to look for:
- 24 gauge as a minimum
- Our counter flashing is a “surface counter” installed to the surface of what most other contractors call their finished product.
- We install code compliant Ice & Water Sheild on all metal roofs, as the new synthetic materials just don’t seem to hold up to construction leaks as well, and we are determined to solve these issues on every home.
METAL ROOFS ARE DURABLE – Most metal roof types come with a class 4 impact rating that frequently saves the end user significantly on their insurance premiums.
Decorative Metal Roofs –
Metal roofing can mimic slate, shingles and wood shake roofs. It’s available in styles from shingles to tiles to panels. The color options are plentiful and give a wide range to customization.
